Orientation Room

The new Orientation Room, located immediately to the right of the entry-way door, is intended to welcome its many visitors to the wealth of heritage and history in the greater Fredericton region.

This is accomplished by the use of exhibit panels with visual aids and text, display cases containing important early area artefacts, and a twenty minute DVD film. The focus is on interpreting our history in an exciting, interactive and engaging manner so that viewers will gain a keener awareness of our collective past.

The film spans four centuries of the area’s dramatic history, with a special emphasis on the Aboriginal, Acadian and Loyalist inhabitants. It includes dramatic vignettes, recreations, personal narratives, maps and early paintings of the area as well as music.
