Museum Treasures: A Celebration

2009 marked the 75th anniversary of the York Sunbury Historical Society which was founded in 1934. It not only marks the anniversary of the society, but it has been 50 years since the York Sunbury Museum has found its permanent home here in Officers Square. Because of these two major anniversaries, it only seemed fitting to make 2009 a special year at the York Sunbury Museum. We decided to celebrate these societal milestones with the opening of an Anniversary Exhibit; an exhibit to display some of the wonderful treasures that our museum holds. This exhibit will feature some of our favourite artefacts, as well as fond memories of people and events that have had a hand in creating the York Sunbury Museum.

The York Sunbury Museum would like to thank Paul O'Connell, Dr. Acheson, Elizabeth Earl and A. Fred White for their contribution of knowledge and time for this project. A big thank you to our summer students Dusty and Katriana for their hard work as well as our other summer students and volunteers (Jennifer, Matt, Caitlin, Alisha, Abby and Nathan) for their assistance. Thank you to Charlotte for the panel designs and to Downtown Fredericton for their generous contribution to our Open House where we opened the exhibit.
