Father's Footprints is a colouring book for young children that tells the story of Hannah Ingraham and her experiences as a Loyalist. The colouring book accompanies our Loyalist Exhibit created by Robert Dallison.

Written by Koral LaVorgna
Illustrated by Melanie Cormier

Based on “Hannah Ingraham, 1772-1869: Her Reminiscences” by Carolyn Atkinson (The Officers’ Quarterly Vol. 13 #4 & #1). The house that Hannah's father, Benjamin, built is now in Kingslanding and the YSM has several artefacts from the family. Hannah kept a diary during the Revolutionary War and luckily it has survived and is now kept in the Archives. It provides a glimpse of war through the eyes of a child. In her diary Hannah talks about her Father's time away fighting in the war and his time in jail, she wrote about when he came home, how her family fled for Nova Scotia (which included New Brunswick at the time) and setting up a new home in what became Fredericton New Brunswick.

The York Sunbury Historical Society would like to thank The Province of New Brunswick Heritage Branch and The New Brunswick Provincial Capital Commission for their generous contributions to our Loyalist Exhibit.
