The 19th Century Gallery
Curated by David Staples and assisted by Elizabeth Earl, this well researched exhibit of pre-1840 art from our collection will remain for 2008. Mr. Staples and Ms. Earl were able to go through our collections, use their considerable art history knowledge, do some specific research and come up with a room full of significant items that created a notable exhibit.
Their volunteer efforts have created a long-term benefit for all of us.
Several items contained in the exhibit can be viewed on the Artefact Canada website. They are:
- A portrait of John Simcoe Saunders
- The carved mahogany arm chair.
- The Nesbit table
- A windsor chair
- A firescreen
